Nepal's former monarch writing autobiography: report

Nepal's dethroned king Gyanendra is busy penning down his autobiography as the country began a new chapter with the Maoist Chief Prachanda
taking over as the Prime Minister of the world's newest republic.

Nepals last monarch, who has been living a solitary life on the outskirts of the capital at Nagarjun Palace since he left the Narayanhiti Palace in June, is busy writing his autobiography.

The autobiography will be divided into five parts, including childhood, experience of working as the Chairman of the King Mahendra Trust for nature conservation, his role as the king, fall of the monarchy and the concluding remarks, the Telegraph Nepal said, based on a report by Tarun Vernacular
weekly today.

According to the report, the former monarch is spending hours everyday to type his biography on his personal computer in English language.
It said Gyanendra also reads books on Nepalese history, mainly from the Rana period, and keenly watches local television programs to spend his time.

During his morning and evening walks, the former king often inquires about the personal life of his security personnel.

"Do you have any problems...where is your family..do your children go to school," Gyanendra was quoted as inquiring from his bodyguards by the Nepali weekly.

After the abolition of the 240-year-old monarchy on May 28, Nepal today began a new chapter in its eventful history as 53-year-old Prachanda was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Indian-origin President Ram Baran Yadav at a function attended by hundreds of political leaders, diplomats and senior officials.
