Nobel literature prize to be announced on Oct 9

The Swedish Academy in Stockholm says that it will announce the winner of the Nobel Prize in literature on October 9.
The secretive academy is always the last of the Nobel Prize institutions to set a date for the prize announcement.
The date was announced on Friday in a short statement on the academy's Web site.
The Nobel Prize announcements start on Monday with the award in medicine.
The winners of the prizes in physics, chemistry and peace will also be presented next week, while the economics award will be announced on October 13.
