Fashion Week's next edition in October
Bathed in refreshed colour palette, flowing creations of fashion designers would once again enthrall fashion freaks as the Fashion Design Council Of India (FDCI) on Friday announced that the spring-summer edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) is scheduled for October 15-19.
She also said in a statement that the 'by invitation only' event caters to the entire fashion fraternity. It is a successful platform that brings together the best of designers, buyers from India and overseas as well as domestic and international media. The main aim of the event is to serve as an effective platform to promote fashion design and provide industry professionals the opportunity to form trade linkages within India and globally.
"The five-day long extravaganza offers participating designers a business presence and a series of marketing tools aimed at informing and updating buyers, investors, corporate houses and the media," she maintained. Sumeet Nair, executive director of FDCI, said: "The recently concluded edition of WIFW was the best fashion week we have had so far in terms of both trade and talent. This indicates that since the inception of India Fashion Week, an initiative of the apex Council, the fashion industry has grown from infancy to adolescence and is on the right track."
"With a spectacular show of the autumn-winter edition, we look forward to an even bigger and richer experience in the new season," said Atul Chand, vice-president marketing of ITC's Lifestyle Retailing.(IANS)
