Ahmedabad: With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) set to form next government in Karnataka, senior party leader Narendra Modi today said the poll outcome shows that people of the southern state have rejected the policies of the Centre.

"The UPA has not been able to fulfill the aspirations of people. The people of Karnataka have completely rejected the policies of Central government and its politics of deception," the Gujarat Chief Minister told a news channel.
The results of Karnataka elections are exactly according to BJP's expectations, he said. "First time the possibility of government formation has arisen for BJP on its own in a southern state. BJP has been winning past several elections in different states. From this election, it is now clear that the condition of Congress is getting worse," he said.

Asked about its national implication, he said, now it has become difficult for Congress to give life to the UPA. He said the disintegration of UPA will increase on the issue of inflation. (PTI)
