A 54-year-old woman, staying alone, was found murdered in her apartment in a posh area in south Kolkata on Sunday afternoon.

Usha Chokhani was found, by her sister, lying in a pool of blood with injury marks on her back and right side of the neck in her Mandeville Garden apartment.
Rekha Bageria, Usha's sister, said she had called her at 2 pm to say that she was sending her driver to her residence with some clothes.
"The driver rang the door bell, but when she didn't open the door, he panicked and call me up. I came and opened the door with a duplicate key to find her lying in a pool of blood in the hall."
