Explosion kills three in Siliguri, West Bengal
Kolkata: A powerful explosion ripped through a house in West Bengal's Siliguri town on Thursday leaving three people dead, the police said in Kolkata. Giving details of the explosion Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) R J S Nawla told media, "The explosion occurred from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while three people were making bombs. Till now, we have not been able to identify them."
The victims also include a woman and they are suspected to have links with terrorist outfits. A pistol, a timer and a transistor have been recovered from the house in Champasari area of Siliguri.
Owner of the house Ramapati Sahu has also been arrested. Nawla said that the house was rented out to some students from Sikkim two months ago. "But, whether they are the same who died in the blast is not clear," he added. Siliguri, a bustling town under Darjeeling district of West Bengal, is about 600 kilometer from the state capital.
