‘Taliban won’t get extra concession’

By OUR PAKISTAN CORRESPONDENT

Islamabad, May 15: Taliban militants will not be given any extra concessions as a result of the proposed peace deal, North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) chief minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti said.

"A peace agreement with the pro-Taliban militants would be inked strictly within the ambit of law of the land and no extra ordinary concession would be granted to them," Mr Hoti said.

Talking to mediapersons here on Thursday, he said talks with pro-Taliban militants are moving in the right direction however no compromise would be made on writ of the government. "Before finalising any deal, militants would have to give assurance that they will not indulge in negative activities and not involve themselves in damaging public property or promoting or supporting violence in their respective areas," he said.
