Oct. 23: Pakistan Prime Minister Yous-af Raza Gilani has said the government will never allow any foreign power to "mar the territorial sanctity of Pakistan’s borders".
"We will safeguard the country’s frontiers at all costs and will never allow foreign forces to challenge our sovereignty," Mr Gilani said during the in-camera session of Parliament here on Wednesday night. "The elements who want to impose their will through killings and terror will be dealt with iron hand," Mr Gilani added.
Unveiling a three-pronged strategy of the government to fight terrorism and extremism, the Prime Minister said the government will not let the handful of foreign and misled people along with their accomplices in Pakistan to drag the entire nation towards a direction in which they do not want to proceed.
"The essence of democracy ensures the rule of majority and protection of the rights of the minority," Mr Gilani said and made it clear that any change in Pakistan’s social, cultural, political, economic and religious life could be brought about only through constitutional and democratic means.
