3i Info buys 26% in Locuz

Chennai, May 8: IT services provider 3i Infotech has taken a strategic stake in Hyderabad-based Locuz Enterprise Solutions, a leading system integrator and IT infrastructure solutions and services specialist.

As per agreement, 3i Infotech has acquired 26 per cent of the share capital of Locuz, with an option to acquire the remaining stake over an agreed time frame.

Commenting on the acquisition, Mr Anirudh Prabhakaran, executive director and president, 3i Infotech, said, "This acquisition will enable us to be a larger player in the IT outsourcing market."

More companies are scouting for specialists to develop-and roll-out IT-centric business strategies. In Locuz, we have found an ideal match to expand our scope of offerings in a synergistic manner, he added.

Locuz Enterprise Solutions provides IT infrastructure solutions and services in high performance computing, tiered storage, information security and IP Convergence Solution.

Over the last 3 years, Locuz has also forayed into strategic consulting relating to adaptive enterprises and enterprise IT management, by establishing a NOC in Hyderabad.

The company has also been providing SLA-driven onsite services to clients in India and abroad in the areas of network and systems management, managed security, and IT Governance.
