Yahoo tools to test online ads

Chennai, May 15: Online advertisers can now test multiple versions of their ads to determine the message that works best for their customers as Yahoo! India has launched a new platform called Yahoo! Search Marketing.

The new platform will help advertisers find the effectiveness of the ads and help them gain a higher return on their investments by targeting relevant customers.

Yahoo vice-president, Mr Prashant Mehta, said, "Yah-oo’s new technologies and features encourages more participation in the growing area of search advertising to make us a must-buy in advertisers marketing mix."

"This platform will assist marketers to understand the performance of their campaigns and experiment more frequently with the new medium," he said.

With this product, clients can create an ad quickly and figure out whether it is relevant or not with the audience. Yahoo is adopting a new ranking model that rewards advertisers for focusing on the things that improve user’s experience.

Advertisers will now have multiple ways to improve the placement of their ads, through bids and by improving their relevancy.

ONGC, Torrent ink deal

Hyderabad, May 15: ONGC Petro-additions Ltd (OPaL) on Thursday entered into a deal with Torrent Energy for the supply of bulk power. OPaL is a special purpose vehicle of ONGC to set up a petrochemicals complex at Dahej in Gujarat.

Torrent Energy will set up a gas-based power plant at Dahej special economic zone in first phase of the project to be commissioned by 2011-12.

As per the deal, Torrent will provide OPaL with sustained power supply, in synchronisation with OPaL’s planned commissioning of its petrochemicals complex.
