SBI to set up 1,100 new ATMs in Bengal circle

State Bank of India (SBI) plans to set up 1,100 new ATMs in the Bengal circle in the next two years out of which 36 ATMs will come up by March this year.
 
The Bengal circle includes West Bengal, Sikkim and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
 
These 1,100 ATMs will be over and above the existing 436 ATMs in the Bengal circle, Jayanta Sinha, chief general manager of the SBI Bengal circle said.
 
The 436th ATM was inaugurated at the Custom House in the city by Hrishikesh Sharan, chief commissioner (central excise) of the Kolkata circle.
 
SBI which has over 8,000 ATMs across the country has targeted to set up 25,000 ATMs by 2010.
