Mahesh Bhatt releases his documentary on Humanism
Ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt on Wednesday launched his first documentary on Assam 'The Torchbearer', a 24 minute long film which revolves around the life of Haji Ajmal Ali, a man with a heart and vision to serve the needy. The documentary was launched during a news conference in the city.
Describing the film plot Bhatt said “the show is to make people aware of humanitarian feelings, how people in need looks for other's help. And when there were more people in need around him how Haji Abdul Majid, a 90 year old man, evolved his spirit of humanism to develop a mission to help them.” “I think India should give birth a million Hajis”, addressed Bhatt in excitement to stress his feelings on the man of his story.
“It needs a Vision to move the mountains”, says Bhatt as he added that the film is for people's sake to let them know what humanity is all about. Restricting his illusion to make fantasy heroes, Bhatt is now desperate to make his new move towards documentary and to feature the real heroes than reel heroes.
Mahesh further revealed that he will also launch the film on the 5th of this month with grandeur in Mumbai with his colleagues and Bollywood stars like Anupam Kher and John Abraham. He also declared that NDTV will be telecasting this feature on their parallel slots and the talks are on process.
After 'Nagaland insurgency,' “The Torchbearer” is Mahesh Bhatt's second venture for the northeastern states as a film maker and this for him will be of a good cause and describing the need of a world of real heroes versus reel heroes. “This is a salute to the all people who have done for humanity a lesson for whom is learning how to do it”, said Mahesh with a smile.
