BJP demands political space for Kashmiri Hindus in J&

Coming in support of displaced Kashmiri Hindus, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today said that displaced Kashmiri Pandits need political settlement

Kashmiri Pandits need political settlement nor economic packages. Reacting to the recent announcement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of giving Rs1600 crore rehabilitation package for the community during a rally in Jammu, BJP state spokesman Hari Om said, “Package is the sinister move by the centre with a camouflaged motive to appease militants only and nothing for the nationalist forces in the state.”

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters in the city, Hari Om said that since center is well versed with the ideology of the Kashmiri Pandits on their return to homeland and political aspirations, the economic package to them had no significant bearing as they need political settlement to their demands and not economic. He said providing them with economic package, instead of conciliating the internally displaced persons, has made them foes to their brethren in refugees from PoK and West Pakistan.

Om further said that Water Resources Minister Saif-ud-Din Soz has called the package as 'revolutionary' that goes well with PDP's demand for its early implementation, sending clear signals of pro-militant strategy of the present governments at the state as well as at the center.

Hari Om also made reference of 'secret migrant families' whose record does not exist with government and are likely to be the major beneficiaries of this package. He put down the number of such families upto 2600 and said that all belong to those militants killed in operations.
