New Delhi: The CBI today initiated investigating the controversial and mysterious Aarushi and Hemraj murder case by registering a case to probe the sensational double murder. The case, that was registered by NOIDA Police, was re-registered by CBI's Special Crime Branch on Sunday morning against unknown persons. Meanwhile, a 25-member team has arrived at Talwars' residence to question Nupur Talwar. However, the security arrangement made for the first round of investigation looks quite surprising with no less than a hundred armed security forces cordoning the residential area. Even the people of the locality are skeptical owing the heavy deployment of forces, as they are suspecting something "major" to happen. The heavy deployment is more baffling also due to the fact that more than a fortnight has elapsed, when CBI begins its investigation, since the murder of Aarushi and there is hardly any chance to find any clue to lead the investigation further from the spot of crime.
Aarushi was found murdered with her throat slit on the intervening night of May 15 and 16 at the NOIDA Sector 25 home of the Talwars and the body of Hemraj was recovered from the terrace the next day. Rajesh Talwar, the dentist father of Aarushi, was booked by the NOIDA police on the charges of murdering his daughter and is currently in extended judicial custody.
Following immense media pressure and inexplicable goof up by the NOIDA Police, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati had recommended a CBI inquiry into the incident last week. Interestingly, Talwars had sought the same saying that Rajesh Talwar was being framed by the police to serve someone's interest.
