"Vibrant Karnataka will be made under BJP government in the line of vibrant Gujarat," said the Chief Minister, who is in the national capital to attend the national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He further added that he would send a team to Gujarat to study the development model followed by Chief Minster Narendra Modi. "I will send my team to Gujarat soon to see the development activities there for implementation in Karnataka," Yeddyurappa told reporters. Though he advocated the Hindutva policies of the party, when questioned whether he would follow Narendra Modi's or Advani's brand of Hindutva, Yeddyurappa said: "Karnataka will follow (former prime minister) Atal Bihari Vajpayee brand of Hindutva and even both Modi and Advani follows the same." It is to be noted that the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was prominently involved in the Karnataka election campaign. Yeddyurappa, a former Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) activist who was sworn in on May 30, heads the first BJP government in a southern state. Appealing for cooperation from both Congress and Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Yeddyruppa said, "I don't want to adopt confrontational policy. We want to follow a policy of cooperation. We are not going for vindicative policy or approach." However, the BJP leader quickly dismissed speculation of dropping of cases against Congress and JD(U) leaders. Promising a corruption-free regime, Yeddyurappa said he would pursue cases wherever required against the previous regime headed by the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S). The BJP was the minor partner in the coalition and Yeddyurappa was the deputy chief minister. "Karnataka government will have zero tolerence for corruption and no case again any political leader or anyone will be dropped. Every corrupt person will be brought to justice," he asserted.
