Shivani Bhatnagar murder case: R K Sharma and 3 others convicted

The Delhi Police arrested Sharma in 2002 after a long hide out since his role
came to light on charges of conspiring and murdering the scribe. Along with him,
five other, namely - Sri Bhagwan, Satya Prakash and Pradeep Sharma were charged
under Sections 302 and 120-B of Indian penal Code on March 5, 2008. According to
the prosecution, Pradeep was hired for committing the crime. After more than six
years since Sharma was arrested, Additional Session Judge Rajendra Kumar
Shashtri had reserved his verdict for March 18, 2008. On January 23, 1999,
Bhatnagar was found dead in her home at Navkunj Apartment of East Delhi.
According to reports, the deceased had links with BJP's senior leader, late
Pramod Mahajan.
