Madhyamik admit cards found on train

It was a close shave for the Madhyamik examinees of a school in Diara, Hooghly as the packet containing their admit cards was mistakenly left behind by their headmaster in a train compartment. Thankfully, an alert passenger noticed the packet and returned them to the school authorities.
According to reports, Mr Madan Mohan Mukhopadhyay, headmaster of Gobindopur Purnochandra High School in Diara left the packet containing the admit cards of the school's Madhyamik examinees in a compartment of a Howrah-Tarakeshwar local on Tuesday. After the train reached Howrah station that night, a passenger travelling in the same compartment found the abandoned packet, containing 82 admit cards and immediately informed Diara station authorities.
Since yesterday was a bandh, the passenger returned the admit cards to the school authorities this afternoon. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, however, is completely in the dark about the lost and found admit card episode.
When the secretary of the Board was contacted, he stated they had no information about the incident. Mr Swapan Sarkar said: “The admit cards were distributed from the distribution camps on 4 February, we are still trying to find out how the incident took place. We have not even received any complaints from the school authorities or the students.”
The president of the Board, Ms Mamata Ray seemed equally unaware of the incident and said, “Since no information was passed on to us, we have conducted a meeting on this issue to find out the reason behind the incident.” She, however, ruled out any lapse on the Board's part and clarified that the Board usually transfers the admit cards to the camps which in turn distributes them to the schools.
