Just 15 days before the exams, the board authorities had announced that for the first time, 20 per cent of the questions will be based on "high-order thinking skills" as prescribed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), the guiding document for the preparation of NCERT textbooks. "As the major focus was on measuring the ability of reasoning and justification, students were quite nervous prior to the exam. But there were counsellors present at the hall to clarify their queries," a teacher of B.D. Memorial High School said. Students of both Classes 10 and 12 came out happy after the examination. "I appeared for my elementary of business paper which was quite easy. I had read my text books thoroughly rather than preparing a few selective questions," a Class 10 student, Ansul Mehta, of Kendriya Vidyalay, Fort William branch said.
