Education Dept to impart education through theatre
Education Department in the city has decided to impart moral education and even the teaching of class syllabus through the help of theatre and drama, making it more interesting for the students to grasp things and arouse their interest in theatre and art as well.
According to Director, Public Instructions (Schools) S K Setia a meeting related to this have been organised under his chairmanship in which seventeen prominent theatre directors along with other theatre groups participated.
He said that these groups will prepare the material and script related to moral education. The rehearsals will be started before the summer break. Each group or director will be given amount of Rs 10,000 for the direction in addition to rehearsals, costumes, refreshments and miscellaneous expenditures.
Setia added that the students from class I to XII may participate in these plays. He further added that the school for plays will be selected with the consent of concerned school principals. He further stated that the theatre will be introduced as a subject in the syllabus moreover the plays will be prepared according to the syllabus.
