The saffron party accused Congress led government responsible for the price rise and condemned its 'inability' to reign in price rise of essential commodities. In Himachal Pradesh bandh resulted in closure of shops and less of private vehicles were seen on the road. Not in Dharmshala, where saffron party organised a protest rally and dharna accusing Congress led government responsible for the price rise, but also in districts like Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una and other parts of the state party members showed their intolerance towards the high rate of inflation and rise in prices of essential commodities. In Rajasthan BJP state chairman Omprakash Mathur said that the Congress led government is misleading people by their taking dual steps. He said that Central government claims to give relief to number of farmers, besides doing nothing to reign in price rise. Jammu saw the Saffron party members burning effigy on streets. Shops and some educational institutes remained closed. Party's state geeneral secretary Shamsher Singh said that though the Congress pretend itself as the most compasssionate for the poors and present its symbol of palm as the 'panja' of the 'aam admi' , it has failed to control price rise and give relief to the common man.
