Jaipur police to release 3-D sketches
Jaipur, May 20: With no arrest made even after a week of the terror blasts here, the Rajasthan police has decided to go for 3-dimension computer sketches of suspects after the release of seven handmade sketches failed to provide any lead to those behind the incidents.
A sketch-maker from Kolkata has reached the state capital. Computerised drawings would most probably be finalised on Wednesday.
"3-D sketches would be prepared wherever necessary, the number could be less than the seven sketches already made which were based on the questioning of owners of the cycle shops from where the bicycles were bought by terrorists to set off the blas-ts," the officials said.
Since the line drawings of sketches were hand made, it was necessary to be more precise and clear, the officials said.
A special investigation team comprising IB, Rajasthan Crime Branch and Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh police have so far interrogated hundreds of people but has not made a single arrest.
A key Simi activist Sajjid and his three associates were detained from Sawaimadhopur district for interrogation by the special operation group of the state police. (PTI)
