Terror outfit threatens Muslim clergymen

By OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

Lucknow, May 21: It is now the Muslim clergy that is on the "hit list" of the terrorist organisations.

The "Indian Mujahideen," that has claimed responsibility for the Jaipur blasts, has now threatened Muslim clerics who are voicing their opinion against terrorism.

In an email sent to some Maulanas, the Indian Mujahideen has said, "With the help of Allah, we have succeeded in establishing a real force to attack non-believers."

It further points out, "O Ulema-e-Satan, the truth is exposed now. The Ummah is no longer going to follow you blindly in spite of your big conferences and gatherings of leaders of different schools of thought against the Mujahideen of Islam."

The letter mentions that the Government of India should be ready to face more attacks for its support to the USA and UK.

The letter also warns Indian security forces and says that if innocent Muslims are arrested and harassed; the day is not far when security personnel would be killed on the streets of various cities in the country. The letter says that if the police force believes that they have solved all terrorist attack cases, they are wrong. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, who was one of the recipients of the email, said that he had passed on the information to the concerned police officials. The other Maulanas who received the email include Maulana Asghar Menhdi, Maualna Jallaluddin Umri and Dr Zakir Naik. The Maulanas, it may be recalled, had sent a directive to all Imams in the state, asking them to make a speech at the end of the Friday prayers in their mosques and request the members of the community not to provide any support to those involved in terrorist activities.
