Howrah News Service - Latest news and headlines on Howrah,West Bengal and World: Sariska gets one more tiger Sariska gets one more tiger ================================================================================ ASIANAGE on 04 July, 2008 02:38:45 Alwar (Rajasthan), July 4: Officials of the Sariska Tiger Reserve on Friday shifted one more tiger from the Ranthambore National Park in their bid to revive the big cat population in the reserve. The tiger was airlifted by a helicopter at 11.45 on Friday after it was sedated, officials of the reserve said, adding that the animal will be kept in a special enclosure. Special radio transmitters will be attached to the enclosure, where a "machan" has been built, to protect and monitor the tiger’s activities. Earlier on June 28, authorities of the Sariska Tiger Reserve had relocated a three-year-old male tiger from Ranthambore. The big cat has well adapted to the Sariska surroundings, the officials said. The authorities plan to shift a total five tigers from Ranthambore to Sariska in the relocation drive. —PTI
