Patnaik for mutual support

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT

BHUBANESWAR

July 4: Evidently perturbed over the media reports on the "blame game" between the Andhra and Orissa police over the Sunday’s deadly Naxal ambush on security personnel at Balimela, Orissa chief minister Navin Patnaik has called for "mutual support and cooperation" between the two states to face the challenge of extremists together.

"At this juncture, let us reaffirm our resolve once again to face the challenge of extremism together in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation," Mr Patnaik told in a letter to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S.R. Reddy on Thursday.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, he said that "the Andhra jawans who had laid down their lives for the security of the nation are great patriots".

He conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved families for their irreparable loss .
