According to BJP UP state president Dr Ramapati Ram Tripathi, BJP leaders across the state will address 15,000 meetings of party workers to apprise them of the issues that the party will focus on during the Lok Sabha elections. "Our target is to hold 1,000 meetings every day from August 9 to 23. We want to inform our cadres that we will be using the Amarnathji Shrine Board issue, the deteriorating law and order in UP, minority appeasement by Central and state government and the rising inflation as election issues. Leaders of all statures will address these meetings," he said. From August 15 to October 15, the BJP plans to address booth-level workers in all parliamentary segments and explain to them the importance of election management. "From August 28 to the end of September, we will hold state-level rallies in Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Moradabad, Bareilly, Gonda and Gorakhpur," the BJP state president said. Dr Tripathi said that the political scenario in Uttar Pradesh was rapidly changing and the real faces of the SP and BSP have been exposed. "Recent developments show that these parties are not concerned about the nation but are concerned only about their personal interests. They are not averse to pampering criminals, corrupt elements and fundamentalists to achieve their political interests," he said and added that four BSP ministers were already in jail and a dozen BSP MLAs had criminal cases against them.
