Cong gives clean chit to Vohra
New Delhi: Rejecting the demand of its Jammu MLAs and the BJP to recall Jammu and Kashmir governor N.N. Vohra, the Congress on Friday gave a clean chit to Mr Vohra, reports our correspondent.
"The party MLAs have a right to express their opinion but it is not necessary for the AICC to agree with all their views. Vohra has done a good job," said Congress spokesman Shakeel Ahmad. Dismissing reports of dissidence within the party on the issue of Amarnath land transfer, he said the party will talk to the Jammu MLAs.
"We will explain the whole issue to them. We will tell them about the positive and negative aspects of the crisis and the state government’s response to it," said Mr Ahmad. It may be mentioned, that the BJP as well as the RSS leaders have been demanding the ouster of Mr Vohra.
