Curfew relaxed in riot-hit Dhule, situation peaceful
The district administration on Sunday relaxed curfew for three hours this morning in north Maharashtra's Dhule town, as the situation was under control and peaceful with no fresh incidents of arson reported since Thursday.
"The situation is under control and peaceful, the district administration today relaxed curfew for three hours from 8.00 am today for the people enabling to purchase their daily requirements," police said.
The township witnessed communal riots over tearing the banner of a Hindu outfit on October five, claiming nine lives and injuring atleast 170 people.
Police have arrested 250 people in connection with the riots, they said.
Meanwhile, former MLA and president of Loksangram Party Anil Gote has demanded action against those found guilty under MCOCA.
