London: Fiona MacKeown, the mother of slain British teenager, Scarlette Eden Keeling, has said that she wanted the Goa Police to be sued for trying to cover up her daughter's murder. Criticising the (Indian) system for being “corrupt”, Fiona said that officers in Britain had agreed to carry out a post mortem on the body. She wanted these tests to be carried out in case forensic results from the two previous autopsy conducted in Goa were found conflicting.

“The police in England are going to do a third autopsy today. I hope the India police are prosecuted for lying from the beginning. The police system is so corrupt that when the press pressure dies down they will start messing about with the forensic results,” The media quoted her as saying at her home in north Devon.

Meanwhile, Fiona has welcomed the news of India's premier investigating agency, Central bureau of Investigation (CBI) taking over the case of inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her daughter's death.

Scarlett's half-naked body was found on the intervening night of February 17 and 18 at the Anjuna Beach in Goa. The Goa Police initially said that Scarlett died due to accidental drowning. But, a murder investigation that began after a second post mortem examination, carried out following pressure from MacKeown, revealed that she had been drugged and raped.

Miss MacKeown had alleged that police officials covered up the evidence on her daughter's death to protect the tourism trade and drug dealers. Two men have been so far arrested over the killing.
