By Manuja Veerappa

Bangalore, May 15: The countdown for the Beijing Olympics has begun. Many Indian sportspersons are making last ditch efforts to make the grade for the quadrennial event. But the big question in every Indian tennis buff’s mind is: will Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi come together at Beijing? Will personal differences make way for national pride?

When this paper asked Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj these questions, he said, "They are not children anymore. They have to decide for themselves, if they want to play together or not."

Amritraj also said if Lee-Hesh want to click as a team it was very essential for them to play together before the mega-event. "If they are to participate in the Olympics, they will have to play at least two tournaments together."

On India’s Davis Cup victory over Japan after the much debated fall-out between the players and captain Leander Paes, Amritraj said: "It was a marvelous victory. They played well as a team," he added.
