Golfers leave for Europe
New Delhi: Delhi youngsters Aditya Singh and Kapil Kumar will represent the National Capital Region at the Swiss amateur golf championship to be played at the prestigious Crans Sur Sierre golf club outside Geneva from June 12 to 15.
Both players — Aditya (21) and Kapil (16) — earned their entry to the tournament as a result of winning second and third place at the NCR Cup and Delhi State Championship held in October 2007.
The Delhi state champion and the winner of the NCR Cup Raashid Khan, who had originally qualified for the Swiss championship, will not participate due to other national commitments. "I am really excited about competing against the best amateur players in Europe," said Aditya.
