Kanpur: India managed to level the three-match Test series against South Africa by winning the Kanpur Test by 8 wickets today. Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh were named Man of the Match and Man of the Series, respectively.

With a little target of 62 runs required to win the match, openers Sehwag and Jaffer gave India a positive start. They played shots all over the ground, but in a way to wrap up the game in hurry, India lost both the openers. Sehwag scored 22 including two big sixes and Jaffer went out for 11. However, by then India had scored 32 runs and it was just a matter of time for India to touch the winning mark. On the 14th over Rahul Dravid elegantly swept one from Harris to call the end of match and the series.

Earlier, South Africa were bundled out for mere 121 runs. South African batsmen failed to take a tough stand against the deadly Indian spin attack and continued to lose wickets, one after another. Harbhajan Singh and Virendra Sehwag together clinched 7 wickets to stagnate the South African momentum. Ishant Sharma, making significant contributions picked up two crucial wickets.
