Jaipur blast suspect held in Bharatpur

A muezzin, suspected to belong to the Bangladesh terrorist outfit Harkat-ul-Jehad-al-Islami (HuJI), has been arrested in Bharatpur for his alleged involvement in the Jaipur serial blasts that killed at least 60 people, a police official said on Monday.

A special team of the Jaipur police picked up Mohammed Illyas from a mosque in Chanpole Colony area on Sunday evening. He was kept in the circuit house for interrogation before being moved to Jaipur.

"A laptop and some diaries were recovered from him," an investigating officer told IANS, on condition of anonymity.

On May 13, nine serial blasts in seven different locations of Jaipur, ripped through the city within a span of 15 minutes. Initial probe pointed towards the role of HuJI militants.
