Delhi University begins admission process

Delhi University (DU) on Monday kicked off its admission process for undergraduates with distribution of application forms and accepting the forms submitted.

The forms will be accepted till June 16 and the colleges will announce their first cut-off lists June 26 to complete the first phase of the process.

The university started distributing individual application forms of more than 70 colleges as well as the common pre-admission form, which the officials expect will be lapped up in no time.

In order to smoothen the process, 15 admission centres have been set up in the university where students can get and submit the application forms between June 2-16.

Along with the common pre-admission form, an information bulletin is being distributed listing out not only the courses available in different colleges but also 2007’s cut-off marks for each subject in each college with maps providing locations of all the colleges.

The bulletin also specifies the courses for which the common pre-admission form will not be applicable. For these courses, the students have to apply through the colleges' individual forms.

The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) has organised buses ferrying people to and from the nearby Delhi Metro station to the admission centre in north Delhi, free of charge.
