Best is yet to come for India says Manmohan
New Delhi: Noting that India was seeking to evolve into a global economy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday said that the “best is yet to come” for the country despite a “whole lot of challenges”. Interacting with a group of foreign journalists in the national capital, Singh said, “Despite being a country with over one billion population with diversities, India was fulfilling all its obligations to be a civilised society.” “India takes pride in being an open society and polity,” he added. Further, India is a country with over one billion people and “we are facing a whole lot of challenges. But we are committed to human rights and respect for law,” Singh averred. PM even stated that the country was seeking to evolve into a global economy. “The best is yet to come. The next 50 years are going to be more productive," PM said. (PTI)
