Oil leakage in Indian Oil pipeline at haldia

Today a pipeline of Indian Oil at Haldia in East Midnapore was found leaking crude oil.Officials suspects nine to ten barrels of crude oil has leaked.Bhaskar Bhattacharjee ,General Manager of Indian Oil Petronas said that the lines were meant to carry crude oil from tankers at haldia to there facility.
When asked whether any sabotage was suspected he said , there was a little possibilty of leakage with the security system in place and that it might have been done externally. He also added that it was quite surprising as the crude oil has no value.

He said 150 metre perimeter has been set around the leak by the Central Industrial Security Force and in-house fire-fighters kept on standby while repairs were carried out.

He also added that there was no gas leakage and there was no danger to people residing in the area.
