‘Pak wants friendly relations with India’
By OUR PAKISTAN CORRESPONDENT
Islamabad, April 2: Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the newly-elected government wants friendly relations with India. "We want to resolve the Kashmir issue and want to see progress in Indo-Pak relations. We want friendship with them," said Mr Qureshi.
"We are neighbours and must learn to live like good neighbours. The issues must be resolved through dialogue," said the foreign minister. Talking to this newspaper on the phone, he said, "There is a need to overview the restriction on Indian investment."
The foreign minister said there is a lot Pakistan can do to improve India’s business and India can also respond. "We can engage in imports and exports which will be beneficial from both of us." He said talks are on with India on all issues and the new government will continue the dialogue process "without compromising on principles". Mr Qureshi said that no foreign power would be allowed to operate in Pakistan against the Al Qaeda or Taliban.
