IT industry to double in 4 years
IT Watch | K.Venugopal
Research firm IDC has said that the Indian IT industry would be twice its present size in four years.
According to IDC’s latest report, the revenue of the IT and IT enabled industry would touch Rs 5.3 trillion in 2012 from the current Rs 2.4 trillion.
Much of the revenue would come from the domestic IT market which was growing at a rate of 18.4 per cent. The growth of the Indian economy would also spur spending on IT by companies.
The spread of personal computers and internet-enab-led devices will also add to the growth, said the report.
Last year, the IT industry had grown by 22.4 per cent and IDC has predicted similar growth this year too.

Kraken ‘hacked’
Security resear-chers have infiltrated Kraken, one of the world’s biggest botnets.
Botnets are networks of computers which have been hijacked by hackers with the help of malware. The botnet is used to spew spam and to implant viruses.
It was a crack team from 3Com Corp.’s TippingPoint that penetrated Kraken.
However, after breaking into Kraken and identifying the IP addresses of all infected mac-hines, the resear-chers were in a dilemma on whe-ther to dismantle the botnet by disinfecting the hijacked PCs of malware.
They finally decided against it after Tipping Point bosses said it would involve corporate liability. Wonder what that means.
